Schedule:  Monday - Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required

 

SKILLS: Customer service and supervisory experience preferred. Must be a self-starter with strong customer service and communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and students.  Must be organized and able to manage logistics of projects and/or programs.  Ability to resolve basic tech issues that may arise with class setups or equipment.       

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Provide excellent customer service and ensure smooth operations of the Workforce and Economic Development (WED) evening classes and events.  

 

DIRECT SUPERVISOR:      Adult Career Development (ACD) Manager

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Point of contact for evening staff, classes, and events in support of WED staff and Autry employees in general.
  2. Work with evening support staff to ensure front desk coverage, direct students/visitors, and provide excellent customer service.
  3. Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during the evening classes or events, ensuring a positive and respectful environment for clients, staff, and students. 
  4. Collaborate with WED to increase the enrollment of students and industry clients by providing a positive customer experience while on campus and sharing upcoming opportunities.
  5. Schedule, maintain, and oversee community interest classes for the Short-Term Course Catalogs. 
  6. Routinely monitor hallways, classrooms, parking lots, and break areas, including evening classes at the Accelerator Campus and Strate Center when requested. 
  7. Lock and secure all doors at the main campus and as requested at the Accelerator Campus and Strate Center before leaving each night.  Reset classrooms as needed. 
  8. Build relationships with exiting part-time instructors to ensure a positive training experience.  Aid in the recruitment of part-time instructors and contract trainers, and connect them to a Training Specialist to help increase offerings and opportunities.
  9. Open and set up classrooms, test technology, and finalize any special requests from specialists or instructors at least 15 minutes prior to class start.  Communicate safety rules and expectations to instructors and students while on campus.
  10. Perform basic troubleshooting for classroom audio-visual (AV) equipment.  
  11. Collect paperwork and materials from instructors and place them in the correct location for Workforce Development staff.
  12. Order books, supplies & materials to assist training specialists and instructors as needed.
  13. Aid in course promotions, questions or concerns, and student evaluations.
  14. Monitor hallways, classrooms, parking lots and break areas, including evening classes at the Strate Center and Accelerator when requested.
  15. Report all incidents and any noticeable repairs.      
  16. Assist in the observation and evaluation of part-time instructors if requested.
  17. Help ensure consistent quality across all aspects of the facility.  
  18. Assist in maintaining a program of public relations that serves to promote understanding, maintain a positive morale, and keep the public informed regarding WED activities, needs, and successes.
  19. Participate in administrative staff meetings and other school meetings and functions when requested.
  20. Maintain a neat and professional appearance. 
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL FACTORS:

  1. Physical demands include bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, feeling, hearing, learning, near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, field of vision (naturally or with correction), isolation, close areas, good eye-hand coordination.
  2. Some lifting required (up to 50 pounds).
  3. Perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, or unusual situations.
