DIRECT SUPERVISORAdult Career Development (ACD) Manager

SALARY RANGE:  Hourly

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Provide instructional, technical, and administrative support to the At-Risk & Adult Welding Instructor by assisting with classroom and shop activities, ensuring a safe learning environment, supporting student success, and maintaining efficient program operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist the instructor with classroom and shop instruction, including demonstrations, lab activities, and student support.
  2. Provide hands-on assistance to students with shop projects and classroom assignments.
  3. Supervise students in the shop and classroom as needed to ensure safety and productivity.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment, ensuring proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  5. Monitor equipment and supply usage; assist with inventory management and ordering of materials.
  6. Provide administrative support, including maintaining student records, preparing reports, and utilizing computer-based systems as directed.
  7. Assist with tracking and evaluating student progress and using learning management systems and other software as needed (e.g. Dynamics, Tooling U, Microsoft Teams, etc).
  8. Assist with program evaluations and continuous improvement efforts.
  9. Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification, as this position serves as a primary on-site responder in emergency situations.
  10. Perform basic maintenance as needed, including identifying issues and submitting work orders for repairs requiring additional support.
  11. Open and close the Woodring facility as needed to support scheduled program activities and client usage outside of normal operating hours.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

EDUCATION:  High school diploma or GED required.  Postsecondary or career/technical training in welding, metal fabrication, or a related technical field preferred.

CERTIFICATION:  Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain within two weeks of employment.

SKILLS:            

 

EXPERIENCE:  Recent hands-on experience in welding, metal fabrication, or a related technical field is required.  Experience assisting or instructing in a classroom or shop environment is preferred.
