DIRECT SUPERVISORDirector of Full-Time Programs – Trade & Industrial

SALARY RANGE:  Hourly

CLASSIFICATION:  Non – Exempt                           

CONTRACT:  10 – Month

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:  Yes

TRAVEL:  5%

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  Assist instructor in the delivery and operation of the Cosmetology program, including hands-on student support, salon services, client interactions, and daily operations of the student salon, while maintaining high standards of safety, sanitation, and customer service.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist instructor in the delivery of the Cosmetology program, including hands-on support in the classroom and salon instruction, while helping maintain compliance with applicable Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology regulations, licensing requirements, and district policies.
  2. Support daily operations of the student salon, including client services, scheduling, reception, and customer interactions.
  3. Supervise and assist students in salon activities, reinforcing safety, sanitation, professionalism, and industry standards.
  4. Assist students with hair, skin, and nail services under instructor supervision.
  5. Monitor and document student salon/clinical hours, and practical skill completion as required for State Board eligibility.
  6. Serve as a substitute instructor in the absence of full-time instructor, as needed.
  7. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe salon, classroom, and lab environment.
  8. Monitor proper use, handling, cleaning, disinfection, and storage of tools, equipment, and products.
  9. Enforce safety procedures and ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  10. Assist with inventory and ordering of salon products, supplies, and equipment under instructor guidance.
  11. Provide excellent customer service to students, clients, staff, and visitors.
  12. Assist with salon promotions, events, and special functions as assigned.
  13. Work evenings or special events as required.
  14. Transport students using school vehicles as required, following all safety and school policies.
  15. Support CTSO programs, including SkillsUSA, Autry Professional Representatives (APR), First Robotics, and other student activities.
  16. Assist with program accreditation, evaluations, and continuous improvement efforts.
  17. Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS        

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:  High school diploma or equivalent is required.  Current Oklahoma Cosmetology License required.  Current Oklahoma Master Instructor License in Cosmetology required, or ability to obtain prior to employment. 

 

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of one to three years of experience in cosmetology is required.  Experience working in a salon, spa, educational, or instructional setting preferred.  Experience working with students, trainees, or apprentices preferred.
